Machine Learning at KinderUni Nürnberg
Last month, the Machine Learning and Perception Group (MLP) hosted a workshop titled “Discover the World with Machine Learning” as part of KinderUni Nürnberg. This event was designed to introduce children aged 8–12 to the fundamental principles of machine learning in an engaging and accessible manner.
During the workshop, participants explored the core components of machine learning through interactive, hands-on activities. Using colorful plastic bricks, they investigated three essential pillars of the field: hardware, algorithms, and data. The children actively built their own datasets, trained simple recognition models, and tested their creations, transforming abstract technological concepts into tangible and easily understandable experiences.
